These quotes about reunions and reunion tours don't always turn out the way I want them to. I haven't heard anything about a Led Zeppelin reunion tour in awhile, despite quotes like "You never know what is around the corner" and "The amount of work that we put into the 02 [reunion concert]... was probably what you'd put into a world tour anyway."
Said words usually just become words that get swept under the rug, but, geez, I mean if someone from Pink Floyd is suggesting the possibility of another reunion, hell yeah I'm gonna write about it.
This time it was David Gilmour, who, correct me if I'm wrong I always thought was the one the rest of Pink Floyd had to convince to do the one-off gigs. In regards to Pink Floyd doing another one off gig, like Live 8 back in 2005, Gilmour, 61, told the BBC 6Music:
"Who knows? Who knows the future? I haven't absolutely said 'no' to the possibility but I think that in reality any sort of long-term thing together is not going to happen.

"We did the one-off thing and that was probably enough for me but we shall see. At my incredibly advantaged age - having achieved this - I've earned the right to sit on my ass for a little while and consider what to do next."
He has a point, but still, 60 is the new 50.

When pigs fly...er...wait. Still not gonna happen. To much bad blood, and their too rich to care.

What fascinates me is that rock stars seem able to keep these feuds at fever pitch for decades, where mere mortals will patch it up after a few years, months, weeks, days. Strummer and Jones didn't speak to each other for almost 20 years and when they did, couldn't remember why they stopped talking in the first place. Waters and Gilmour? Does Dave remember why he doesn't like Roger? (Apart, possibly, from Roger advertising himself as the 'genius' behind Dark Side and The Wall in tour ads.)

Well if your at an "incredibly advantaged age" you can always sub contract your work.

I 'm curious as to why you tagged this with Green is the Colour? I've always liked that one. More is a better album than many give it credit for. Certainly better than the next to unlistenable Obscured by Clouds.
As to the quote, I almost wish they'd stop with the teasing and just stay mute until something was a done deal. Other than keeping their names in the papers what good does talk like this serve? In most cases I think it can serve to anger the fans more than anything else.

Groon wisely said: "Other than keeping their names in the papers what good does talk like this serve? In most cases I think it can serve to anger the fans more than anything else."
And to feed their egos. Lest we forget those!
I always felt Roger was the real douchebag in Pink Floyd, and he was the reason they haven't gotten together on a permanent basis. I could be biased...

It's always seemed that way to me, too. He basically fired both Rick Wright AND Nick Mason, and probably would have gone after Gilmour, too, if he could've figured out a way.

there is a lot of ego in that band to go around
if they decide to reunite for a show or two i'd love it...but certainly wouldn't feel unsatisfied if they chose not to
