This morning I was listening to the Eddie & Jobo radio show. They're two DJs that have been on the air in Chicagoland since I was born. Talking about the new number one album in America, one of the guys, I'm not sure which, made a joke in reference to my peeps (see my last name) and Nas, whose self-titled sold 187,000 copies to land on top of teh char thtis week. He beat last week's number one and fellow rapper, Lil Wayne, whose Tha Carter III sold 105,000 copies dropping to Number Two this week.
The joke went something like this:
Last night Nas went out partying with his friends to celebrate his number one album. At the club they were hammering down lots of Polish vodka. Everyone got really drunk, except Nas. He was the designated driver. The next morning all of Nas' friends woke up, scratching their heads as to how they got home. They call around and find out: Nas drove ya!
To check out other Nas funnies head over to MrFrost's post. where the rapper & Comedy Central's psuedo Republican Stephen Colbert make sweet laughter together.
The release of Nas was controversial. First the name change, then the Fox protest. Did these things help him nab the Number One this week? Controversial publicity is good publicity?
