MusicRadar invites anyone who has a question for Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith to submit it to them; they will pick their favorites to ask in their upcoming interview with him later this week.

On their Friday night / Saturday morning radio show "freak night" this weekend, Dutch presenters Giel Beelen and Gerard Ekdom received a rather bizarre phone call from 19-year old Otto, who claimed to be a terminally ill cancer sufferer hours away from committing assisted suicide (some forms of euthanasia/assisted suicide are legal in The Netherlands).
He requested Coldplay's song "Viva La Vida" as his last wish; the presenters, at first, did not take the call seriously, so when Otto said he was "going to die in 10 hours", they jokingly said they weren't going to be able to play the song "for another 11 hours", but as they dug deeper they realized the call was probably not a prank.
Eventually, they played the song and dedicated their show to Otto; in his blog (http://gerardekdom.nl), Ekdom explains how, whether it was genuine or not, he feels deeply impacted by what happened, and if it was indeed true "Otto is dead now - RIP Otto".
Beelen, speaking to the press today, refuses to believe that the call was a possible prank, as he felt the call sounded as "something impossible to fake". He has not been in touch with Otto or any of his next of kin. "If they feel the need to contact me, they know where to find me", he stated, "but I won’t go digging into anyone else’s misery on my own accord."
Hoax or genuine, the truth over this will undoubtedly come out in time, and whatever the outcome, it doesn’t really matter to me anymore, as I have been touched already, and that Coldplay song will never sound the same to me again.
For those who read/understand Dutch, the recording of the conversation on Dutch national (public) radio and links to related press coverage below.

That's heavy though it seems the radio host has a rather cold shoulder.
Yikes. I guess there's something to be said for going out on your own terms. Last song. Last meal. Whatever comforts you...
