After a long career as California's premiere underground rapper, Murs is set to make his major label debut with "Murs For President" on September 30th. The disc has gone through a few delays in the last 12 months, therefore last year's singles "Better Than The Best" and "Dreadlocks" won't be included on the 15 cut album.
"This one is for all the marbles," Murs says in a press release. "If this don't go, it don't go. This is it for me. I'm almost 30. I've been doing this and if I don't know how to do it by now and I can't make a platinum record, I've failed."
Snoop Dogg, Will.I.Am, and DJ Premiere all collabed with Murs on the album, but he's most excited about the contribution from a certain west coast legend.
"The biggest thing to me is that DJ Quik mixed the whole record. I got to sit with him every day. He’s a fucking genius!" admitted Murs. The emcee added that the work come in the form of a classical approach, "And we mixed it to a two and a half inch tape. It’s analog. It’s warm. Every rap album now is mixed straight, they call it in the box, ProTools. I took my shit and put it on the shit they put Beatles records on because it’s my only chance to do it. It might not happen again. So, um…DJ Quik mixed the tape. It’s all nerdy shit. To me, I tell people like this. I’m a director and I got to make…like Kevin Smith or somebody gets to make Clerks and then makes to big budget film. This is my time but I got one explosion, maybe."

Last night at Kanye's 'Glow In The Dark' show in New York City, Yeezy brought out Jay at the end of the show to debut a new song. The track is called "Jockin Jay-Z" and is produced by Kanye.
Jay and Yeezy also shouted out "Blueprint 3" a few times, which confirms the title of Hove's upcoming album (barring a change of heart).

As a bonus...heres another video that guages the crowds reaction to the Jay-Z performance... they were going nuts.

Seems Kanye and Jay Z definitely have the skills as far as knowing what it takes to stay on top these days. More power to them.
"That bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar/Somebody should have told him I'm a fuckin' rock star/Today is gonna be the day that I'm gon' throw it back to you..."
That dude is Teflon. I'm a die-hard 2Pac fan. I was the last person to jump on the Jay-Z bandwagon. But at this point, hip-hop has never seen anything like that dude. And, if possible, it seems the Glastonbury debacle has given him even MORE swagger. What the fuck?!!?
