I picked up a GLS song from the 2006 SxSW torrent, and liked this particular song. I tried to see them that same year at a crappy 6th street bar at 5:00 in the afternoon - not the best time for a quiet alt-folk band... But, just getting home from an SF show and heard this song live. Tony Dekker, the singer and songwriter of the band, has this unbelievable and haunting voice. My point is, for the $12 it cost me, I got a lot of value for my entertainment dollar. Go out a... MORE

1. It was rad! 2. Opener Clay George is a fox in the way that Caetano Veloso is a fox. By which I mean a silver fox who wears a classy suit. (Also he plays lovely alt-country ballads.) 3. What's a good band name? I've discussed this a little with some friends, and haven't come up with a name I like a whole lot. I think it's tough to stand up to the repetition. Clever names suffer from the Be Sharps syndrome. Books, movies, and even albums don't seem to have this problem, perhaps because they have a theme to work off of. If clever's out, what's left? Maybe being informative. I like bands who let me know who they are, like Rage Against the Machine, P... MORE
