Happy St. Patrick’s Day, all. We’re plowing down I-10, east toward Biloxi, en route to Athens Georgia and Tasty World, where next we’ll perform. Valerie, our GPS, says we have 467 miles to go, 8 more hours of driving in front of us, after an 8 hour day yesterday as well. Oh, Mr. Booking Agent, pleeease try scheduling the shows closer together next time. Oh wait. We’re the booking agents. Fuck.
Bethany had to go back to NYC yesterday, but she plans on reuniti... MORE

Prayers' day off. Friday at SXSW. This is what part one of what we saw that day featuring Andre Williams, The Silos, Viva Viva and more!
Whew. it’s already day three of sxsw, we’ve played three shows, we’ve hunkered down and settled in; three days and already adventures to fill ten lifetimes, ten blogs, ten video diaries, ten hours of campfire stories, ten years worth of fun.
our first set was at this wonderful little artist’s conclave set back into the woods on the outskirts of austin, a place called the Enchanted Forest. the stage was set far far back, over a rickety little creek with a rickety littl... MORE
No one ever said it'd be easy; Schatz goes on a hunt for Lifehouse; we open our set with "Brown Bottle" -- SXSW, Here We Come!
We awoke at the crack of dawn and burned down 8 hours on the road with one goal in mind -- to worship in the closest thing The Teenage Prayers have to a church.
That’s right. The Stax/Volt museum in Memphis TN.
Amazingly, and this is why Memphis is one of the coolest places on earth, as we made our way through the museum, i noticed a mild-mannered looking gent taking a group through on something like a guided tour. after lurking around them and hearing some of the... MORE
i never get to play with the van. the van lives in new jersey with kyle bass so the only time i see it is when i’m loading stuff into it or driving it long hours through horrible weather to faraway gigs; no time for serious bonding there, let alone anything approximating a scrub-down.
So today on one of our only days off this tour, i took the opportunity to really get intimate with the van, and to remove all of the rotting food. along the way, i found some interesting... MORE
A ten hour drive from Pittsburgh to Dayton?
Why not?
It’s Day Two of The Teenage Prayers’ SXSW Video Tour Diary!
Howdy Faithful. As you know, we’re bound for the road and that got me to thinking about some things about touring.
Steve Wynn once said, when speaking about the joy of touring, something to the effect that the allure is due to it being such “a focused lifestyle.” I wish I could remember the exact quote, because it brimmed with wisdom, packing a truth until that point unrecognized, yet innately understood. The focus plays something like this: leave for show, play show, fi... MORE
We have started working the new record at college radio and specialty radio (which means shows on commercial stations that play different music than the rest of the station/new music etc.) and so far its been GREAT! We are 2 weeks out and are at 83 on the CMJ chart, thanks in no small measure to the folks at Pirate and Planetary who are working the record for us, and nothing short of spectacular!
The band has gotten some great reviews/posts so far, with a lot more hopef... MORE
The Teenage Prayers are a New York rock band that remind me of The Hold Steady, the J. Geils Band, Sam & Dave and Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels. Sound good? Well, it is. Their new album Everyone Thinks You're The Best is due out on March 4th and is produced by the legendary Steve Wynn. Frontman Tim Adams comes with the drama and energy so lacking in indie-rock these days and his brother Terry is adept at riffing on soul music as he is with the classic rock. The songs... MORE
