Charles Brown’s “Trouble Blues” starts with Sam mmm-mmm-mming the melody against bass and drums. Then the piano and organ come in, with Clif White’s guitar laying triplet chords against the groove. Billy Preston has a nice solo, then a closing chorus. Beautiful!

My Trusted MOGs
Billy Pretson is the man, look at this list I found of people he has worked with: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Little Richard, Ray Charles, George Harrison, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, King Curtis, Sammy Davis Jr., Sly Stone, Aretha Franklin, the Jackson 5, Quincy Jones, Richie Sambora, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
That ain't no list to shake a stick at
My Trusted MOGs
Sturgell, think you missed Nat King Cole: Preston played with Cole on Cole's show when but a lad of ten. There's video on YouTube and somewhere's on MOG. Another great post, blackfoot. I take it this one's from Night Beat too? MOG / Rhapsody has an annoying habit of "correcting" people's album tags.
