Today, as I peek my head out of my window in NYC, I smell "fall"- a peppery mix of decomposing leaves and firewood. Considering that whenever I stick my head out of my window, I am surrounded by brick buildings, not trees, perhaps it's more my imagination. Regardless, Fall makes me think of Halloween and knit sweaters and hot coco and cuddling in layers of blankets. So as I tuckered into PJs, I pondered the perfect song for fall. And I came up with this:

Have you ever heard of a band Frontier Ruckus?

I hadn't heard of the 6-peice Michigan based crew either, till I found this song..........

And then I fell in love.......................

With the flow, the ebb of the warbling folk tune................

The impeccable, grotesque yet true lyrics that weep, the genius of lyricist Matthew Milia.....

"The bathroom does taste of menstration chasing like musk through window streams. Like wounded doves, all pretty things bleed.

Just listen.

We can talk about the cold later.

Thursday Night, I honestly think the VP debate couldn't have been scripted funnier; Palin has not only been able to capture America's heartland's "joe 6-pack" hearts, she's even caused the post-debate media to coin a new word: "folksy." (If I hear that word one more time....that or "you betcha," I too may turn into a pitbullish broad.)

If you were one of the 66.9 million people (most in US history to watch a presidential or VP debate), you know the sour reality of our current nation state (hell even you international Moggers are feeling the economic ripple effects). Even if you missed the debate, you may feel the 'change' in your pockets, or due to a pink slip or credit freeze or watching teeth-chattering congressmen doing the billion dollar budget summations on CNN. Or if you're an active reader of newspapers, magazines, or (gasp) blogs (which evidently Palin is not), you've felt the conditions spiral downward for the past 8 years. All of the above should be enough fodder to coerce you to register to vote (if not sprint to do so). Even on the off chance you still rest ambivalent about the future of this country (gulp), I'm hoping you find the following celeb-heavy video humorous yet effective to get yourself in those polls in November 4th.

Check it:

The bottom line? Read between the bullshit: The DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE IS OCT 15th!!! Even if it's just registering your change of address, do it mates!

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR THE 2008 ELECTIONS

I just re-registered myself with a change of address in time for the deadline....

I hope you guys do too! You've got 1 wk before the deadline!!!! PS. For the record, I hate politics. But we speak to eachother on these blog mogs like friends and family...and my lil bro will verify- I've been haggling him to watch the debates, register, read, & vote as well! (I am also trying to get him to convert parties, tricky business)......

(The details below are from NY State's website; check your own for more info).

Much Love,

xx

Well said my friend! This election is critical.

Has anyone noticed that Gov. Palin sounds like the Happy Cow from California?

Please register and vote - In Michigan the deadline is Monday the 6th.

Artist: Track: Code For The Streets
Other Tags: Gize Burrows, 77Klash, grime, Reggae, rastafarian

77klash, aka Gize Burrows, aka mate of Dave Hyman CEO of MOG, aka Jamaica-born rapper/jammer/mixer/producer extraordinaire is hosting a soiree to celebrate his latest release tonight in Soho, NYC....

77Klash's music is a riotous mix of Rastafarian reggae, grime, rap, and punk-inspired dancehall. He's been a long time favorite in the indie blog/mag scene (pick up a Fader issue and you're bound to catch him in there)- and his music is worth all the merit. After all, he's a bit of a pioneer in the Brooklyn DJ scene: Per his EP Code for the Streets, Klash said  "I call it dancehall but it’s not really dancehall until the vocals touch it," Klash says. "I try to keep [the rhythms] as minimalistic as possible and use sounds effectively." You got to listen to it to appreciate...check it above.

So if any of your New Yorkers are around, I'd highly recommend stopping to see 77Klash work up a sweat, groove a lot, imbibe a bit, get naughty, and be merry.

Celebrate 77Klash's latest release and video for "Mad Again feat. Johnny Osbourne" at Red Bull Space (40 Thompson St) this Wed Oct 1st

Performance by 77Klash

Presented by Complex Magazine and JC Cognac

I've got a handle on his monicker...

"When Two Sevens Clash" was /is an album by "Culture" ..came out in 1976..John Peel played it over and over... A mogger called Baudilino will know all about this i'd guess.."77" "when two sevens clash" must be ,i guess something Marcus Garvey said... ooh those two spiky sevens ,it's gonna be bad..1977 in the U.K. was the Queens' silver jubilee year  "punk" had it's heyday..Reggae was big,and "rock against racism" got going...

it all blew over...

Ha!..sorry by "all blew over " i meant the apocalypse.. "the world's going to end..chaos fire and brimstone"  and all that,in 1977...but it turned out to be one of those future dystopia sci-fi type moments ,where they put a date on it and it just passes  without incident, like   "1984" or "y2k"..

Or is going to kick off in 2077?
