Artist: Album: Code For The Streets Track: Mad Again (WHOA!)
Other Tags: Johnny Osbourne, Matt Shadetek, Dutty Artz

Johnny Osbourne really did hit the studio to re-record his world-famous "Whoa-oa-oh" and then danced in this video with 77Klash and Matt Shadetek.  It's not smoke and mirrors or modern sampling techniques.  Much Respect!  Here's the brand new video for "Mad Again (Whoa!)

77Klash feat. Johnny Osbourne "MAD AGAIN (WHOA!)":

That throbbing beat is by Matt Shadetek and the video is directed by Jon Fine.  Watch closely and you'll see 77Klash fixed up, looking sharp, Johnny Osbourne looking irie, Matt Shadetek keeping the fire burning, and fresh moves by Ground Zero Dancers, Dancerz Blvd., Skerrit Bwoy and more.  The tune is off 77Klash's new EP Code for the Streets.

Johnny O's part is inspired by his original tune, "Buddy Bye" on the siiiick Sleng Teng riddim:

Which was later remixed into a jungle tune by Ridley Don and released on Greensleeves in 1996:

And again by Chopstick Studios in 2007, but I can never find audio or video for Chopstick tunes.

You may remember how much I gushed about "Brooklyn Anthem" last year:

Well, "Mad Again (Whoa!)" is by the same producer and MC combo only Johnny O pon di mic instead of Jahdan Blakkamoore.

BIG UP THE DANCEHALL MASSIVE!!

There will still only be one Johnny Osborne for me. In fact, he's the inspiration for my MOG (and blog) name.

Artist: Track:

Busta Rhymes does his country proud, spittin out about the economic crisis and global politics on a new tune called "Arab Money" featuring Ron Brownz.  He took the tune to the UK this week and demonstrated the A-Rab Money Dance in the studio on Tim Westwood's BBC Radio show:

"If you wanna hear that tune again - somebody say Pu-u-u-u-u-u-lllllll UP!"

I hope I get a chance to interview Busta someday, man is a RIOT!

One of the wisest blogs I know posted about this tune and included 2 autotuned Algerian songs in a similar spirit.

Autotuner spans genres and vocabs on Mudd Up!

MrFrost says:

just the song title "A-Rab Money" alone makes me laugh. Rappers never cease to come up with more adjectives that describe the different levels of rich.
