As much as I enjoy listening to her music, watching her videos, and attending her concerts, I’m of the opinion that Icelandic techno-sprite Björk is certifiably nuts. Brilliant, but loony. The Icelandic artist Björk and Sigur Ros will play a free gig in Reykjavik, Iceland on June 28. The gig is being organized to raise awareness of environmental issues in the artists' home country. The exact location of the show will be announced nearer the time. According to today's news reports, Björk allegedly assaulted a photographer in New Zealand on Sunday following his attempt to take pictures of her at Auckland International Airport. The photographer claims that he did not provoke her in any way or speak to her before she grabbed him by the t-shirt, ripped it, and fell down.

There seems to be some contention that over the past ten years Björk's musical output has been becoming more and more avant garde and divisive. The assumption is, that at one point, she had been creating pop hits. It would be easy to argue that Homogenic is the best album of the last decade. Every song is a stand out. Every song makes you feel something. Every glitch, evokes a mood. Its all there. In all its bits.

ive just watched the great escape for the first time and it really bought up mixed feelings, much like when i watch any war film.
after the men were driven into the field and executed i felt sick, and a hatred of the germans filled me.
and im 21.
i wasnt even alive to be apart of anything that has given me this feeling.
