By the Canadian Idol top 10!!! Really, I don't think I've ever seen such a poor performance night. One girl did a Pat Benatar version of "Cat People", the boy from Newfoundland did a very campy "Dancing in the Streets", "Let's Spend the Night Together" was a sorry mess and even "Space Oddity" came across as a lame Natalie Merchant imitation. Unbelievably, no-one touched "Changes", "Heroes", "Golden Years", "Fame" or my very favourite "Life on Mars". Here's my antidote... MORE

You lucky Mail readers!!!! I was googling to see what was new with Mr. Ziggy these days. It's been quite a while since we've heard any new stuff from the Glitter god. I found a link on his Bowie.net site for this great article written by the man himself. Included in the issue was a free CD of Bowie's favorite Bowie songs. At this point we are well used to models converting to acting or posing as a TV spokesperson. However, it is typically more painful when models try to sing. Something about matching pitch, tone, and still smiling and strutting often proves too tough for the lanky long-limbed leopards in leotards. Yes, it's been a year already! Thanks for turning me on to some great music and for letting me know that even though I have serious lapses in taste from time to time, you think I listen to some good stuff too.

I wanted to post this Bowie song just because I really love it. Not sure why but it made me think of other men songs I like. Like Robyn Hitchcock's "The Man Who Invented Himself". I noticed that there's quite a large number of "The Man With The (insert descriptive word or phrase here)" songs. I think there's probably enough for a whole mix cd. Around midnight last night, one child threw up. At 6 am, the other one had a disquieting bout of diarrhea (aren't you glad I'm here to share these things with you? You're welcome!) David Bowie has given the go-ahead for Director Peter Schaufuss' musical based around his hits, for a stage version of Bowie's cult sci-fi film 'The Man Who Fell To Earth'. The production will weave the singer’s hits based around the storyline of the 1976 flick. Schaufuss plans to launch the musical in his native Denmark this autumn, reports NME.
