This is the first of a series of music videos upon which I was raised in my youth, in the early days of MTV. I will update this from time to time, as the mood strikes me. The year: 1982, if I recall correctly. My mom had talked a friend into hooking us up with cable TV, so MTV was a new and exciting thing. i was 14 years old in 1984. if you were a 14 year old girl in 1984 there was a fairly strong chance you were a durannie. i was a dedicated durannie. I looked through and bought armfuls of teen magazines like Bop, Star Hits, 16, etc. and covered my walls with posters and pictures of them. I watched MTV devotedly to see a duran duran video. Duran Duran are back and their new video is fabulous! Totally hilarious - the band run a rehab for rich brats and the story starts out with a Britney Spears look-alike whining about how she's fine while her boyfriend calmly tries to get rid of her. One of his arguments is that she'll enjoy it because she's got girlfriends in there to hang out with! Hahha ha ha! The song is great too, a great comeback for the pop stars. Hip-hop mogul Timbaland and pop sensation Justin Timberlake are helping Duran Duran get "sexy back," according to Yahoo. Duran Duran made a solid comeback with the upcoming release of Red Carpet Massacre and the recent launch of its first video for the song "Falling Down." The video portrays the trend of models/starlets going to rehab for a week and then returning to a life of luxury. However, someone in the UK does not approve. I was watching Jonathan Ross on TV in the Hilton Smashed off my face at 3 in the morning, and the band playing was Duran Duran. They look and play exactly the same, what 20/30 years later. FAB! I was loving it, so thats what I've been listening to all week, hehe. enjoy!

Geez. It's been ages since I've posted anything on MOG.
I guess I really just want to say that two of my favorite bands - Duran Duran and Radiohead - have both released amazing albums (relatively) recently.
Duran Duran's "Red Carpet Massacre" is a brilliantly fun electronic-pop album, and Radiohead's "In Rainbows" is their most consistent album since "OK Computer."

I don't know what i'm going to do? I have been taking the day off or playing hookey from work or school for the past 20 some odd years when Duran Duran has released an album, or cd what ever your listening pleasure is. Where do I get it, not from Wal Mart or worse Best Buy. Tower Records is gone, it;s as dead as disco. This is truly the end of a habit I will truly miss!

Duran Duran is set to release their long awaited album Red Carpet Massacre on November 12th, the first single will be Falling Down which is already proving to be of interest to men everywhere. It was co-written and produced by Justin Timberlake, which is kind of funny considering the video will feature topless models. I've had so much new music lately I don't know quite what to do with it all. I've heard more in the last month than in the last year. Way too much of it is stuff I like.
