Feist

While it may not be a totally new concept, Feist appeared on none other than the Sesame Street recently. As usual, she changed up the lyrics to fit the show and the result was nothing short of great. Sometimes it pays to have a 2 year old who likes to watch cookie monster.

There are a long line of Cameo's on Sesame Street and Feist is the newest addition to this gang. In someways, the song, with it's nursery rhyme cadence has even more lighthearted than the original.   . . . . . . And MR. Stevie Wonder from 1973 (When I was an avid viewer of the program.) . . .

 You thought you were finally done hearing Feist's "1,2,3,4" when the iPod commercials finally stopped airing huh? Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids. Feist will be appearing on the 39th season premiere of Sesame Street with a new rendition of the song. The video of the performance is the cutest thing you'll see all day...I promise. However, I'm glad I don't have kids, because they'd probably play it over and over until I jumped out of the window.

In my head.  It's curious the dominance this music that no one can hear but me has.  This song is fuckin up my life this week.  In a good way, I think.      

This is my favorite track on Feist's amazing album, The Reminder. If you haven't heard this, you gotta check it out. And if you have, give it another listen.

I saw a clip of Feist on the Colbert Report and remembered how much I love this song... ...and as usual I was quite inspired. Oh and I accidentally made way too many t-shirt transfers of this piece so if anyone wants one ( for a very small fee :] ) send me a mogmail.

Is it a coincidence that Feist is quite feisty? I think not. I just got in from her show and man is she full of spunk. She has so much spirit, but the kind that would blossom among a much smaller crowd than there was tonight. There's actually THREE Feist songs at work. I guess I knew it but I didn't really think about it? I don't know. But there's My Moon, My Man which I always knew was there... And then I Feel It All and Mushaboom. Neither of those songs were ones I could name before actually going to figure out what they were, though, so I guess that explains it. Troubadour Leslie Feist, better known as just Feist may have lost the Grammy for Best New Artist to Amy Winehouse earlier this year, but you ain't gonna be seeing Amy Winehouse on Sesame Street any time soon. Feist added several stops to her already extensive summer tour. She plays in Detroit MI Thursday April 10th and covers most of the US before hitting Canada.
