For some reason I've had this song in my head the past couple of days. I think it's because I mentioned INXS in that post I made the other day about band lineup changes.
I still love this song. I forgot how much I still love this song until just the other day.
The Doc Martens in the video have me feeling nostalgic. I think I'll wear a pair of my Docs to knitting group tomorrow.
For some reason, in my mind I have always linked U2 and INXS. Maybe it's the era or maybe it's the alphabetic names. I don't know. But in my musically warped mind they are forever linked. And here is my take. I have never, ever connected with U2. Just like Radiohead, Interpol, and Muse...I can see the talent and i would never begrudge anyone liking them, but these bands do nothing for me. Whereas INXS rocked my world as I was growing up. Maybe it's because there songs ar... MORE
RAWK FACE !!!
_(see figure 1 below)_ (also note his left hand - total classic RAWK hand pose in motion...) Yup, that kid is gonna be a Supah Dupah ROCK STAR - though I still say Toby Rand is kinda cute - he holds not a flicker of a flame to _MY_ RAWKER !... MORE
Big big big music, 87, eight grade, these guys and U2 were just about the biggest bands goin at the time
Some pretty funky 80's dancing in this video.
"I'm drunk! Can't see my glass." Oh, those lyrics from yesteryear. I wore out two cassette tapes of the album Shabooh Shoobah in my early generation auto-reverse in-dash car stereo. It was one of the first CD's I bought when it came out in that format.
March 1993. My sister and I discover our taste in music for the first time. Me, U2 (Achtung Baby). Her, INXS (Welcome To Wherever You Are). She's 10 at the time. I'm 12. This is the year I tape everything and anything that sounds like U2 or INXS on the radio. U2 becomes my religion. I go back through the U2 catalogue and buy every U2 album and listen to it religiously. My sister gets hooked onto INXS's back catalogue and discovers "Kick". INXS becomes her religion. The Far... Rain?!? WTF?!? I was just about to start mogging when I heard the somewhat familiar "tink, tink, tink" on my storage shed and thought that sounds like rain but it's not in the forcast! Then it poured down for about 10 min and now the cloud is gone. So much for our technology for forecasting... I should always trust my wireless connection. It's far better than doppler. It never works properly when a storm is approaching and it has been down for the last two hours. Have yo... MORE

...In The Name Of Love?
Genius. I'm so playing this next time I DJ. (Oh yeah, Nickeii - I DJ. I DJ good. Well, I say good, it's more like adequate. Well, when I say adequate... ) Anyway! Eighties irony, asymmetrical birds nest hairdo's and ketamine sandwiches, that's what you kids like, isn't it? INXS there, marvellous.
