I find myself putting this song on repeat from time to time... and getting sick of it isn't on the agenda.

don't you hate it when you get songs stuck in your head?  it doesn't happen all that often for me, but in the past 24 hours i've had a few:

Darren Hayes, "I Forgive You" - woke up with this on the brain
Jewel, "Daddy" - lyric just popped into my mind early
Tori Amos, "Drive All Night" - one of the worst songs from the new album, but somehow still rewarding

Laura Veirs has an excellent new album, Saltbreakers, and this song, "Don't Lose Yourself," is on it.

My new piece on Laura Veirs just went live on MSNBC. This was one of those cases where there was just too much interesting stuff to say about the band. I had a great interveiw with her producer, Tucker Martine, too, but was obliged to only include the material relevant to this project. Laura is a talented songwriter, and her lyrics are very poetic. mmmm....nothing lovelier than a day at the beach, under the blue sky, waves crashing on the rocky shore, the salt air tangling your hair, and laura veirs on your ipod. perfect, right? and that pretty much sums up my weekend. (oh yeah. i guess i should mention that i was at a convention and was supposed to be attending several forums on how to better my school's service club. but the forums were optional, and the beach was just too pretty to pass ... Laura Veirs just released a wonderful new album called "Saltbreakers". I think it's her best yet. There's one song in particular on there that I've been playing pretty much nonstop: "To The Country". It has a choir on it and it just blows my mind... Here's a videoclip of "Cast a hook in me", also on the same album.
