R&B fans should have known it would come to this, when R. Kelly booted Ne-Yo off tour late last year, he wouldn't take the demotion lying down. Last week Ne-Yo filed suit against R. Kelly, claiming Kelly fired him without just cause. According to Ne Yo, he was canned after just two shows on the Double Up Tour because he upstated Kelly and received a bigger reaction from the crowd.

Ne-Yo was suddenly kicked off of R. Kelly's Double Up tour before Thanksgiving out of the blue due to "contractual disagreements". Of course we all knew that was just political BS to save face, Ne-Yo appeared on Ed Lover's radio show to clear the air.
Ne-Yo says R. Kelly took up every dressing room at the venues. Ne-Yo had to fight in order to share one room with his band and dancers. In addition to the dressing room problems, R. Kelly also limited rehearsal time on the per... MORE

I'm the first to admit that the track is nothing innovative. It's your standard mid-tempo R&B song over a synthesized pop track (which is what I expect from a Euro... MORE

Okay so here I am surfing around the net as usual at the beginning of my day off and I come across Ne-Yo's new song "Can We Chill" and I can't help but feel a little nostalgic from the sonic composition. I swear I feel like I was listening to an old Michael Jackson song (before he got all weird on us)! Could it possibly be that with all the coke up your nose stars going belly up, the path is once more open to those feel good songs that made music what it was back then? I u... MORE
Ne-Yo has done it again. The R&B singer hit Number One with his sophomore studio album, Because of You, in its debut week on the Billboard Top 200. Ne-Yo sold only 39,000 more records than the Canadian Sinatra wannabe Michael Buble, whose Call Me Irresponsible landed in second. Four other debut records made the Top Ten this week. Most surprising was the comeback of arena rockers Rush (also Canadian). Their eighteenth studio album, Snakes and Arrows debuted at Number Three,... MORE
Ne-Yo, a.k.a. Schaffer C. Smith, has returned with his follow-up to his 2005 self-tiled debut, Because of You. Formally titled Know Me, the 12-track album really soars and truly shows his talents as a storyteller through song. You would want to actually listen to to the lyrics of his whole album. It's a concept album of a rocky relationship that can be traced to his inspirations from the 60'-80's R&B era. A true balladeer, his smooth vocals work on each track invoking somet... MORE
