Pedro the Lion

Artist:
Album:
Track:
Listened to Pedro the Lion for the first time this week and liked it well enough. Love the line, "if it isn't penetration then it isn't worth the kiss." It reminds me of, well, life. Don't know why I dig the shit out of it, but listening to it 5 times in a row sure makes the drive to Santa Monica seem shorter.

Pedro the Lion - A Mind of Her Own

(45)
Blog post image preview Dave Bazan is the man. There is no doubt about that. He makes honest music and it's good. No, not good, it's great. Winners Never Quit was my introduction to Bazan and really Pedro the Lion is the brainchild of Dave's. It's one thing to be a great songwriter, but a stud musician? Yeah, there isn't a whole lot Dave Bazan can't do. He plays all instruments on this album.

Appendectomy

(12)
I just got out of the hospital, suffering from appendicitus. They had to remove my appendix and I was forced to spend two very uncomfortable nights in the hospital, in a bad and - for all intensive purposes - immobile. That first night, I was able to fall asleep listening to Pedro the Lion using the "Play All" option on my iPod (six+ hours of Pedro, though I didn't get to sleep until five am after all of the ER testing, so I woke up half-way through Control after an hour... First Song Upload

Blog post image preview Since this is the first song I've ever uploaded to Mog, I figure I might as well start of with a cover. This is my rendition of a Pedro the Lion song called Of Minor Prophets and Their Prostitute Wives.
I had the pleasure of meating Dave Bazan when he came and played at The Social in Orlando a couple months back. He was a really nice guy and answered a lot of quesitons from the audience. I was really glad that he played this song in particular though.

Pedro the Lion and other things

I love the gut wrenching/tear my heart out lyrics. This makes sense because I’m convinced I’m crazy, but that’s not the point of this post. My friend’s (soon to be) ex-husband was into this band called Pedro the Lion. He got my friend in to the band. I’ve heard of them but never listened. This weekend I was checking my friend’s blog and hear “Rapture” by Pedro the Lion. The lyrics were so on point with what she and her ex are going through. It touched a nerve with ... MORE

When you forget about songs...

(176)
When I was fifteen years old, I went to see Pedro the Lion in concert. My older brother who was attending college in LA came down to San Diego where I lived with my parents, picked me up and drove us to Pomona to see the show at The Glass House. That show was my first real concert experience and the whole spectacle was just so amazing to me as a young teen. More amazing was the band, and the CD they were touring "Control." Now to get down to my post, I have a few Pe... MORE

i finally found an instrument i can play

Blog post image preview first of all, i just noticed that the dates on a lot of my posts are fucked up. for instance, i did not post 5 different things today, those are from yesterday, and the day before, and etc. go figure. in other news, i found an instrument i can play with precision. you should feel free to take me on tour with your band now, as there can't be many bands out there (in fact, probably NONE - imagine the press!) that feature THE BIC PEN now, seriously. before you say no... in the jukebox of her memory

i feel as if i've been away for far too long, and i miss the friends i had started to get to know in this mog-iverse. life has been crazy making, and busy, with moving out and moving in, and the busiest time of year to be in advertising. so, to get my feet wet again, as they say, i'll post the last two things i shared in my livejournal -- that are both connected, and music-related. hope you are all well, keen as pie, and substantially music drunk. cheers xxx top five...
