Part 1 - Paranoid Android.
"I want you to go, but we also don't really have the money."
"I get paid on Wednesday, and I've got extra work lined up for the week - if that wasn't the case, I wouldn't even consider it"
"Well, maybe you should just go by yourself then."
"But now I don't know if I want to go by myself..."
When had all this doubt and hesitation begun? When had it become so difficult to go to a concert? I know. It was about 2 and a half years ago. Th... MORE

I never thought that I would go for her. She was never the easy sale, the one that a man would necessarily be drawn to in a crowded room. But once I slowed down enough to drink her in, she was the one for me. She definitely wasn't sold on me either at first, and her rejection of everything I thought was me at the time cut me deep. But I swam in a kind of infatuation that drove me to do whatever it took to gain her favor. Everything she did sparkled magically, and her nat... MORE
Those who read my previous post may recall that I was trying to create a mix CD, where track 1 would be the first track from its album, track 2 is the second track on its album, track 3 the third, et cetera. Oh yes, all are from albums released this year (or as Heath astutely noted, that will be released this year). In fact, the impetus for last night's post was that I had found that at least a dozen songs that rank among my favorites this year were all track 2's.

Update the imigration bill the real ID provision was attached to was voted down by the US senate.
Nothing to do with music, but it does have to do with your privacy and freedom. Congress is trying to pass the Real ID program - a way to make all our information available to any government agency anywhere. This system is estimated to cost over 23 billion dollars to establish, 8 of which will be paid for by citizens, 14.6 billion will be differed to individual states.

I heard this song while I was watching Nip/Tuck the other night. It just made me think about how much I have grown to love Kid A as an album. At first, I wasn't sure about it. Maybe my expectations were too high - The Bends and OK Computer are two of the greatest albums ever in my opinion - but on first listen I was a bit indifferent. However, the more I listened to it, the more I began to appreciate its brilliance, and the undoubted courage of Radiohead in pursuing such a di... MORE
Being the organization freak that I am, I think I finally have my mog the way I want it. Why this excites me so, I don't know. But my girlfriend is getting annoyed. No good. Should I become part of the street team? Do they pay?
I'm in the middle of redesigning a website, so it's time to dig out Productive Music. Music that I can play on loop that helps me work, even though it;s just hit 6 a.m. and I haven't been to bed yet.
For me, that album is Kid A.
I'm an odd Radiohead fan. I don't particularly like The Bends, and OK Computer never did it for me. I'm synesthetic, and hearing OK Computer brings metallic smells that I can't stand. But I got Kid A on the first listen. It spoke to me.

So it's weird but I guess I never really understood what Thom Yorke was singing about, even though Radiohead has been my favorite band since The Bends and I was an English major, so you'd think I should understand it, right? Now I think I do. Now I realize that Kid A is their best, hands down. And I'm listening to the words.
"There are two colors in my head."
What colors?
Seems like everything they've ever done links up too, like the song title says!
