Today is the one year anniversary of LA's indie rockers Silversun Pickups debut album Carnavas released on Dangerbird Records. The group formed in 2005 and already had a strong underground following before breaking into the mainstream. After such a spectacular Wolfmother show, I didn't thionk anything could be better the rest of Summerfest, but I was completely wrong. Enter: The Silversun Pickups. Alright, one more catch-up tonight. Back on May 9th, Silversun Pickups passed through Toronto. There seems to be some concern that their sound is a little too heavily based on the Smashing Pumpkins... although I hear that in their music, it doesn't stop them from being a really good band.
