The Kinks will release their first ever box set on December 8 when Picture Book becomes available from Sanctuary/Universal.
The 6-CD set contains 130 tracks ranging from their biggest hits to rarities, demos and live tracks. Included are a few tracks from the pre-Kinks band, the Ravens.
Accompanying the discs is a 60-page book with a biography, timeline and numerous previouly unpublished photos.

Legendary British rock band The Kinks have taken a step closer to a reunion - frontman Ray Davies' brother Dave is back on his feet after a long illness. The 60s rockers are keen to reunite for live gigs and to record new material, but Davies revealed last month that they were only "three quarters of the way" towards their dream because Dave Davies still feels the effects of a stroke he suffered in 2004.

Ray Davies has revealed that The Kinks are working on a new album.
Despite persistent rumours that the band were unlikely to record or play together again, Davies told BBC News that the band are currently writing new material.
"We've started a little bit of this and that," he said. "But it is too early to judge the quality. It depends if there's good music. We want good new music. I'd like to do it as a more collaborative thing than we used to do."

Two years, Oh My. This MOG rules. Seasons change as does everything. I'm not sure this track by The Kinks has ever made it to CD. I didn't spend too much time looking it up. My kinks collection is rather thin at about 5 or 6 cds & a dozen or so albums. Also a few singles. This is one of them. I've long liked this song and it seems apt.

I really have missed it here. So, after being a dick about Monterey Pop, I've decided to spend some time writing about the genius of the Kinks.
