My body is a cageThat keeps me from dancing with the one I loveBut my mind holds the key I'm standing on the stageOf fear and self-doubtIt's a hollow playBut they'll clap anyway My body is a cageThat keeps me from dancing with the one I loveBut my mind holds the key Standing next to meMy mind holds the key... I'm living in an ageThat calls darkness lightThough my language is deadStill the shapes fill my head I'm living in an ageWhose name I don't knowThough the f... MORE
I admit to not being a huge fan of this album, especially the album version of this song, but the radio version has an authentic energy that vanished on the album.
In case you needed another reason to love Arcade Fire: they have proven that an orchestral septet can successfully perform in an elevator.

Within the last few months, I discovered the Arcade Fire. I have to say that this band consistently makes me feel good. I've been listening to Neon Bible every time I drive this week, and I don't get tired of it. I usually go with music that makes me feel good, or just makes me FEEL. Many of the songs on this album do just that, especially Keep the Car Running, Neon Bible, and No Cars Go; although I love the entire album.
In case people haven't been keeping up with their music news, The Arcade Fire are up to something. If you go onto NeonBible.com there is a curious link called BeonlineB and all it is is lots of eyes with Oct. 6th everywhere. Well, here, you can look at it yourself:

I rented the Coachella 2005 DVD a few weeks ago and watched it. It has a sweet line-up. One of my favorites on it was Arcade Fire playing "Rebellion (Lies)". A nice reminder, I hadn't listened to that album in a while. That's when I found out they released Neon Bible and I started listening to that. Funny how that works out sometimes.
This video makes me really want to see them play live.
Basketball can get some people into trouble. First its The Game waving a gun on school zone court and now Aracde Fire's Win Butler is stealing basketballs. According to a fan calling himself Chris H. Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler stole his basketball last Sunday, June 2nd. Butler was playing bball at a University of California-Berkeley gym. It was packed and the courts were full, but Butler wouldn't let anyone play with him attesting, “I paid too much damn money to get... MORE
One of my two Arcade Fire show buddies ditched me last-minute, so I had to call someone else, who happened to be really sick, and told her if she'd like to go we could be by to get her in ten minutes. I bought tickets for the night of my school's prom on purpose, so I could know I was having a more amazing time than everyone there. The opener was Electrelane, whom I remember deleting from my iTunes a while back. They're better than I thought, though - they sound like fal... MORE

Arcade Fire singer Win Butler is "recovering nicely," according to a post he made on the Arcade Fire website. In late March the band had to cancel dates after Butler became ill. He had sinus surgery and is now preparing for a U.S. tour that begins April 26. While resting he and his wife, bandmate Regine Chassagne, began working on new material. "I wanted to let you all know that the surjery was successful, and I am recovering nicely," Butler writes. "Thank you all for ... MORE
So its been 4 weeks since Neon Bible debuted at #2 on the billboard charts, and its now at #44. In contrast, John Mayer's album is a Gold record and has been on the charts for 20 some weeks, is at #42, and also debuted as #2. Anyone else think that this is a sign? That a really great indie-rock band, from an independent label, from canada, can debut at #2? There was hype, but that hype was deserved, it was layover from Funeral. It was not marketing hype. The only problem... MORE

Arcade Fire have cancelled the final eight dates of their current European tour due to illness. Band leader/singer Win Butler has been suffering from a sinus/bronchial infection. "I am backstage at the venue in Oslo and I just had to make the very sad decision to cancel the rest of the European tour.," he posted to the group's website Saturday, March 24. "I have been suffering from a sinus and bronchial infection for the last 3 months, and last night in Stockholm I finally... MORE
