Say what you will about Van Halen now, but there was a day when they were the baddest, most imitated band on the planet. They made metal a music palatable even non adolescent boys (read: actual real live women!) and changed the face of what party rock was.
While Van Halen is most known for the guitar virtuosity/pyrotechnics of Eddie Van Hallen, but I think this track will rove that ol' Diamond Dave had the chops to put a voice to that guitar. Hell if it wasn't for Diamond... MORE

OK...so maybe that's just me being a bit dramatic...but Van Halen on-again off-again on-again frontman David Lee Roth was involved in a near-fatal allergic reaction ...all awhile driving his car! More than a month ago Roth was driving his car in Oakland, Ontario (somewhere between Detroit and Toronto) when two cops pulled him over. When they got to his car they realized Roth was suffering a severe reaction to peanuts after he had eaten a contaminated source. (Mr.Roth...... MORE

Darker and more foreboding than what fans were expecting, Van Halen's fourth album contains the grittiest guitar tones of the their entire catalog.

...I've got to come clean, there's a couple of bands from the 80s that I still love that most people don't, among them: Van Halen...Back in the day, the word around the campfire was that Eddie V et al sold out and went for the synthesizer sound...even David Lee Roth thought so at one point... (I heard similar grouses about The Clash's Combat Rock LP when it came out but in my mind it is one of their best albums ever)...dude was just being innovative and his instincts prove... MORE

I don't know if it's crack, porn, the Roth-Hagar-Cherone cabal or paying all that Bertinellimony or what...but this is alarming indeed. Have you seen junior's grades? He's unemployed...his folks are overjoyed!

Van Halen has rescheduled tour dates that were postponed due to Eddie Van Halen's medical condition. The group returned to glory last fall with David Lee Roth for the first time in 20 years. The guys will resume their travels on April 19th and will play 20 shows before wrapping up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

It was a long time in the making, but in the end the reunion tour from Van Halen was totally worth it. David Lee Roth rejoined the band for the first time in 20 years, and the guys racked up $93 million dollars in revenue. The successful tour was temporarily stalled when Eddie Van Halen had to enter rehab in March of 2007. Upon his release things got back on track and the tour stretched into 2008.
