Aussie psych- rock trio Wolfmother have split up and I'm pissed! Their 2005 eponymous debut, not only ruled but it also garnered the band a Grammy. Wolfmother - Andrew Stockdale (Guitar, Vocals), Chris Ross (Bass, Keyboard), and Myles Heskett (Drums) - played their last concert this past Sunday at the Australian festival Splendour in the Grass in Bryon Bay.
The band's label Universal Australia Music released a statement explaining that immediately following th... MORE
it seems there are quite a few Wolfmother haters out there::cough, hyman, cough::. From what I can tell it is because they feel they are derivative, sounding like they are straight out of the 70's Last night at the Warfield theater in San Francisco, Wolfmother rocked hard and loud. They are a simple band, with simple lyrics with simple grooves. They come from a simple land, they wear simple clothes and have a simple stage set-up. They are 3 youngsters just jammi... MORE
First Wolfmother for me ever.
I fancy it.
Should I keep going or run away? :)
(should I also start listening to Led Zeppelin, or will that get me confused? :) )
So, I'm talking to a friend on IM and I'm like, "What're you liking right now?" and he says, "Wolfmother."
So, I go to the Tube of You. They have some rocking songs there by the aforementioned band. Fortunately for me (and for you), they are horkable. I horked for you. You'll comment. It's only fair.
The Colour is also quite tasty. Watch. Listen. Love.
I can't believe I never put Wolfother on here. An awesome australian band, the music, the voice, the quality of it all is amazing. Official website for those wishing to discover: http://www.wolfmother.com/I owe Hollywood for making me discover them, she still hasn't lent me the Live DVD, but odds are I'll buy it. White Unicorn's one of my favs, hope all of you can enjoy. The YouTube link to the official video just plain sucks so here's the mp3. Enjoy! @ Have you been to ... MORE
Wolmother put on a fantastic show tonight at Summerfest in Milwaukee. This kicked off my 11 day binge of concerts, drinking, and not working with a bang. They opened up at 11 and played an energetic show until about 12:15, which was long enough to leave everyone satisfied. The keyboardist rocked out harder than I could ever imagine a keyboardist to rock out, but I guess that's the sheer awesomeness of a Wolfmother live show. Another great aspect was the fact that they jamm... MORE

When I discovered Wolfmother for the first time before the NFL season started this year, I was quite impressed. Somewhere down the line with alot of reviewers feeling the same way as I did they singed something witht he NFL or CBS or ESPN or someone and now their song Woman is on every single football highlight show. Don't get me wrong I still love Wolfmother and their song Woman but I am just a little annoyed of hearing that song. I don't blame Wolfmother, I blame whoeve... MORE
According to Undercover News , Aussie retro rock hitmakers Wolfmother's performance on the weekend at Splendour In The Grass may have been their last, at least with the original line-up. Insiders tell Undercover that there has been a split between singer, guitarist Andrew Stockdale and the other two founding members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett. Manager John Watson tells Undercover News, "Unfortunately I can`t make any comment other than to say that as soon as the ... MORE
