Aussie psych- rock trio Wolfmother have split up and I'm pissed! Their 2005 eponymous debut, not only ruled but it also garnered the band a Grammy.   Wolfmother - Andrew Stockdale (Guitar, Vocals), Chris Ross (Bass, Keyboard), and Myles Heskett (Drums) - played their last concert this past Sunday at the Australian festival Splendour in the Grass in Bryon Bay.

The band's label Universal Australia Music released a statement explaining that immediately following th... MORE

it seems there are quite a few Wolfmother haters out there::cough, hyman, cough::. From what I can tell it is because they feel they are derivative, sounding like they are straight out of the 70's Last night at the Warfield theater in San Francisco, Wolfmother rocked hard and loud. They are a simple band, with simple lyrics with simple grooves. They come from a simple land, they wear simple clothes and have a simple stage set-up. They are 3 youngsters just jammi... MORE

Blog post image preview The release date lies somewhere in the unforeseen future but Australian psych-rockers Wolfmother are busy at work on their sophomore album. The trio, who have been working on the album back in their Oz homeland, have ten songs in the can, including the aptly-titled track “Back Home.” “Other bands are like, ‘Yeah, we wrote sixty songs and edited it down to this,’” frontman Andrew Stockdale told RollingStone.com of his writing habit. “We spend a lot of time on each son... First Wolfmother for me ever. I fancy it. Should I keep going or run away? :) (should I also start listening to Led Zeppelin, or will that get me confused? :) )

Blog post image preview Ruralish Connecticut starts getting really pretty this time year. It's weird, I've lived here for years and still marvel at the gorgeous woods, orchards and meadows. I'm getting sad about Winter coming but not enough to stop me from enjoying the now. If you live or might travel to this area for some leaf gazing, consider stopping off to Blue Jay Orchards, it's not quite as rocking and this song, but the homemade pies are!

So, I'm talking to a friend on IM and I'm like, "What're you liking right now?" and he says, "Wolfmother." So, I go to the Tube of You. They have some rocking songs there by the aforementioned band. Fortunately for me (and for you), they are horkable. I horked for you. You'll comment. It's only fair. The Colour is also quite tasty. Watch. Listen. Love.

Blog post image preview This has already been a pretty fantastic year for Wolfmother. The Austrailian band took home a Grammy in February for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song, "Woman", which makes them the first aussies to grab a Grammy since the Men At Work won the award 25 years ago! Also, their self-titled debut album has already reached double-platinum at home, and their bass player, Chris Ross has a lovely new baby boy to rock out with. How can you, their biggest fan, make this year ... Wolmother put on a fantastic show tonight at Summerfest in Milwaukee. This kicked off my 11 day binge of concerts, drinking, and not working with a bang. They opened up at 11 and played an energetic show until about 12:15, which was long enough to leave everyone satisfied. The keyboardist rocked out harder than I could ever imagine a keyboardist to rock out, but I guess that's the sheer awesomeness of a Wolfmother live show. Another great aspect was the fact that they jamm... MORE

Blog post image preview I beat the clock, right?Well, here it is. I'll try to work on a widget that contains all 3 parts of this. But for now... R thru Z Read My Mind – The KillersBrandon Flowers is the New ‘Ego to Beat’ and this offering from Sam’s Town tries its hardest to justify that ego. It recalls The Cars ballad, Drive, in its atmospheric production and yes, Bruuuce, in its belief that hitting the road is the first step to achieving the American Dream. Ambitious yet under-stated, this i... MORE

When I discovered Wolfmother for the first time before the NFL season started this year, I was quite impressed. Somewhere down the line with alot of reviewers feeling the same way as I did they singed something witht he NFL or CBS or ESPN or someone and now their song Woman is on every single football highlight show. Don't get me wrong I still love Wolfmother and their song Woman but I am just a little annoyed of hearing that song. I don't blame Wolfmother, I blame whoeve... MORE

According to Undercover News , Aussie retro rock hitmakers Wolfmother's performance on the weekend at Splendour In The Grass may have been their last, at least with the original line-up. Insiders tell Undercover that there has been a split between singer, guitarist Andrew Stockdale and the other two founding members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett. Manager John Watson tells Undercover News, "Unfortunately I can`t make any comment other than to say that as soon as the ... MORE
