Yup, fellow mogger Vroomster and I attended an private show thrown by the makers of Rock Band that featured a "very special guest" as it said on the ticket.
There were rumors of The Who playing but I didn't think that was possible. First I thought it would be someone playing a Who song on Rock Band. Then I thought maybe they will do a couple tunes.
But after the first few tunes I knew this was going to go the distance. It was 2 1/2 hours of great Who songs. Lots of their bigger hits along with a few from Quadrophenia.
A rocking 5:15 which was one of my favorites of the night.
The encore included a medly and a great Sparks.
I left the show totally blown away.
Here's a clip I found that gives a taste of a few tunes.
Anyone else go to this????

I wasn't a die-hard Who fan at the time (though I've always liked them), and I happened to get offered a free ticket to see them at Ohio State last year. Let me tell you I was BLOWN away. They're legends for a reason. I think Roger Daltrey said he was sick, but for a 60+ year old man who was sick, he was spot on. He nailed the scream in Won't get fooled again. I also got to meet Mr. Townshend that night and just about pissed myself when he walked in the room. They rocked.

Yeah, I can't believe how amazing they are still at their age!! I hope I can do have of what I can when I'm that old.
